Children are encouraged to learn by touching, feeling and doing. In traditional learning environments, children sit at desks and listen to a teacher. In contrast, Montessori children are encouraged to move around the classroom and engage with the wide variety of activities available.
Children choose the activity they would like to work on, bring it to a table or mat, explore the materials and make discoveries for themselves.
They are welcome to make a mistake, find the answer and correct on their own, again and again and again. And if they couldn’t, the teacher will offer another lesson.
Hands on materials are significant in our education.
These hands on materials make the classroom a discovery zone!
