What is so different about Montessori education?

  • Children are encouraged to learn by touching, feeling and doing. In traditional learning environments, children sit at desks and listen to a teacher. In contrast, Montessori children are encouraged to move around the classroom and engage with the wide variety of activities available.
  • Children choose the activity they would like to work on, bring it to a table or mat, explore the materials and make discoveries for themselves.
  • They are welcome to make a mistake, find the answer and correct on their own, again and again and again. And if they couldn’t, the teacher will offer another lesson.
  • Hands on materials are significant in our education.

These hands on materials make the classroom a discovery zone!
